Introducing me

My name is Aag de Bruijn. I am a 23-year-old graduate student currently enrolled in the MSc program Biomedical Engineering at the Technological University in Delft. My passion lies in the development and design of cutting-edge medical devices to improve modern healthcare. Specifically, within my master’s program, I have specialised in the field of neuromusculoskeletal biomechanics. This pursuit stems from my interests in the treatment of individuals suffering from neuromusculoskeletal disorders that impair their mobility and vitality. Therefore, my educational program concentrates on understanding the biomechanics of the neuromusculoskeletal system to acquire the fundamental knowledge and research skills needed to solve important challenges associated with human movement and control. Furthermore, I am greatly interested in movement analysis and motion tracking, specifically in the field of sports engineering. I have a strong ambition to explore the optimisation of movement to enhance sports performance.

In addition to my academic life, I like to spend my free time pursuing my personal interests. I enjoy staying active by running or cycling, which allows me to clear my head and spend time outside. Additionally, I have a strong interest in creative design, to discharge my creativity, which I can explore in my job at the TU Delft TPM PhD Council. Furthermore, I am passionate about advocating for change, actively supporting causes close to my heart through my involvement with organisations like GELIJKSPEL and Amnesty International. Moreover, my participation in the Leiden Leadership Program in 2022 has helped me improve my leadership skills. Lastly, I am trying to expand my horizons by spending my time learning Spanish as a third language.

I want to improve the lives of those suffering from neuromusculoskeletal disorders
